2. How long does a session last?
The initial session can last up to an hour and a half. Returning sessions for the same condition typically last between 45 minutes and 1 hour but may be longer or shorter depending on various circumstances.
3. Do the needles hurt?
Usually the needles are not painful but there are tender areas on the body and if inserted into a painful area the sensation may be a bit strong. Individual sensitivity also plays a factor. However, Erik has a very gentle touch so normally there is little to no pain and what little ther may be only lasts while the needles are being inserted, the sensation goes away after the needles are in.
4. Do all treatments involve needles?
Acupressure, Cupping, Reiki/Qigong, and guided meditations do not involve the use of needles.
5. Are the results instantaneous or do they take a while to notice?
Effects of the treatment are normally felt within a day of the treatment, often immediately. In a very few cases it may take up to two days before a response is noticed.
6. Do I have to undress to receive a treatment?
There are many treatments that can be done with only rolling up sleeves or pant legs, lifting the shirt a little, unbuttoning the top button or two, or just taking off shoes and socks. However it is best to assume that the acupuncturist will need access to your limbs at and below the knees and elbows, as well as access to the painful area.
7. Do you offer herbal treatments?
We do offer herbs and can provide them for you on the visit following your request.
8. What is with your logo on the welcom page?
The logo is a combination of the fire and water symbol of qigong, and the rod of Asclepius which designates a healer. The combination of these two symbols shows a harmony between eastern and western approaches.
